The Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA) has announced new plans for installation of Photovoltaic Systems in Commercial & Industrial Units, Residential and Local Authorities in 2013. These include a scheme of self-produced energy in Commercial and Industrial Units.
The plan aims to implement electricity production using photovoltaic systems in commercial and industrial units for own use (self-production).
“Selfproducers” for the needs of the Plan, defined as the generation of electricity from photovoltaic installed on the roof premises or in the same block in the premises of commercial or industrial consumers, which is not injected into the network but is used at all times exclusively only for their own consumption and not for economic exploitation through the use of the Network.
The Scheme for 2013 is referred to integrate systems of total installed capacity 10MW. The maximum power of each solar system that may be installed are 0,5MW.
